Biography

Melissa Hill (1986 Norfolk, VA) is an award-winning artist who received both her BFA in 3D Media (2011) and her BA in Art History (2012) at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. She completed her MFA in Sculpture (2015) at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. She currently practices in Chesapeake, Virginia and works as an adjunct professor at Old Dominion University.

Hill’s art has been exhibited both nationally and internationally. National exhibitions include various solo and group shows, such as the Arts in Foggy Bottom 6th Outdoor Sculpture Biennial (2018), the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art’s New Waves Exhibit (2017) and Continuum at the Baron and Ellin Gordon Art Galleries (2017). Internationally Hill has participated in The International Prints for Peace (Mexico, 2014&2010), Temporality, Morality, Impermanence (Netherlands, 2014), and Fire, Water, Earth (France, 2014). In 2014 she was awarded an exhibitions fellowship at the Flashpoint Gallery with CulturalDC.
